The popularity of the gardens inspired the Lions Club of Toowoomba Wilsonton to provide a refreshments carriage to the public in 1990, a Guard Van, previously used on a passenger and goods train, was located at the Station.

A 1930’s ganger’s trolley, operated by hand and feet power, and a Pacific Constructions motorised ganger car rest either side of the van. Club members have made a significant contribution to the gardens and have relocated the original double arm Home and District signals to this area.

From 1995, the Spring Bluff Railway Station Trust Management Committee was formalised with the responsibility for co-ordinating and directing management activities and ensuring that such activities contribute to the preservation of the site without compromising the site’s historic and intrinsic values.

In 2005 the buildings at the Station were all repainted to their original heritage colours. In the 1970’s, Queensland Rail introduced steam train excursions from Toowoomba to Spring Bluff in response to public interest in the prize winning gardens during Toowoomba’s Carnival of Flowers.

Today diesel hauled trains run twice daily during Carnival week from Toowoomba to Spring Bluff.

For excursion bookings phone the Toowoomba Station on (07) 46313380.
